Grace Mbungu is a fellow and Ph.D. Student at the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS). Her PhD project looks at contextual factors that support or hinder the transition from traditional cook stoves and fuels to clean, efficient and affordable cook stoves and fuels with a focus on improved cook stoves in the Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya. She has worked on issues related to sustainable development and transformations, social justice, women´s rights, human rights, societal engagement and participation in Kenya, the USA, and Germany. Grace holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Bowling Green State University (USA) as well as a BA in Political Science and Women´s studies from the same institution. At the IASS, Grace supports the KLASICA Alliance team and is part of the Symposium organizing team.
